Matteo Berrettini won his 5th career title at the cinch Championships in London by defeating
Cameron Norrie 2-1.
Matteo Berrettini will be the one leaving the famed Queen's Club courts with the trophy after he defeated Cameron Norrie 6-4 6-7(5) 6-3. The Italian played a great match overall dictating rallies with his powerful serve. The Italian was able to keep the points short thanks to his one-two punch of serve + forehand.
Norrie tried his best but most of the time he ended up running on the baseline trying to get the ball back. The first set was determined by one bad serving game of Norrie which gave Berrettini the break. The Italian served it out 6-4 never allowing a single break point and dropping only two points on his first serve.
The 2nd set featured strong play by both. Berrettini was once again too hard to deal with when serving but Norrie was able to find a breakthrough in the tiebreak. He took an early mini-break and never let go of him winning it 7-5. It was a wake-up call for Berrettini who became much more aggressive.
Norrie held his own initially but Berrettini was applying more and more pressure. Norrie was able to save the first break points, but he lost his serve in the next service game and Berrettini finished it off with 6-3.
