After two semi-final matches that were played at the St. Petersburg Open on Saturday, we know both finalists, Borna Coric and Daniil Medvedev.

The first to make it to the final was Coric. He spent more than 2 hours on the court against Joao Sousa. The youngster from Croatia lost the first set 3-6 and in the second his opponent had 3 break balls in the 11th game. However, he failed to convert any of them and in the subsequent tie-break, Coric won 7-5. In the third set, the 15th player of the ATP ranking dominated and secured a seat in the finals. After the match he said:
"I don't like [losing the first set], either. I would love to be in two sets. Maybe one day, hopefully, it's going to come one day. I think I played three very good matches, especially today, It's great. I'm looking forward to the final."
The home crowd favorite, US Open finalist and probably the most talented tennis player Daniil Medvedev played second semi-final match in St. Petersburg. Egor Gerasimov, who had qualified in Russia and reached the semifinals, stood in his way.
Medvedev won both sets identically 7-5 and he has not lost a set yet at the tournament in St. Petersburg. The final against Coric will be his fifth in a row, as he will surely want to improve his record in the final matches, having won only one of the last four.
