Medvedev smashes Carreno Busta for Cincinnati semifinal

The best player playing tennis right now, Daniil Medvedev won yet another match in impressive fashion. The Russian is looking like the player to beat right now with his impressive play that is not missing a beat. That is how the start of this match went as well taking a quick 3-1 lead.

The Russian served extremely well and even when Carreno Busta was able to get a racquet onto the ball it would be a short return quickly turned into a winner by Medvedev. He added another break later to close out the set with 6-1. Medvedev dropped only two points on his serve in the entire set winning 13/13 points after hitting his first serve.

The 2nd set was a very similar one as both players served very well (above 75%). However, that was only an advantage for Medvedev as he was once again impeccable. Carreno Busta struggled more on his serve especially on his 2nd where he won only 1 of 8 points played.

Medvedev would close out the set with 6-1 completing the dominant performance that sees him advance to yet another semifinal in 2021. The Russian is familiar with going all the way in Cincinnati as he lifted the trophy in 2019.
