"Things got difficult but I waited for an opportunity" says Tsitsipas after edging out Sonego

The match featured a sensational effort from Sonego who is a very dangerous player on his day and yesterday was a very good day for him. Tsitsipas lost the opening set 5-7 but came back to win moving to another quarterfinal. On the match he said:

"He was going for every single shot and his footwork was close to unbelievable. He can do damage against high-ranked players. Things got really difficult in a few moments but I stayed there and waited for the opportunity to present itself."

Tsitsipas will face Felix Auger-Aliassime next after the Canadian scored somewhat of a surprising win over Matteo Berrettini.
