Top-seeded Russian Daniil Medvedev will highlight the day's action at the 2020 Open 13 Provence in Marseille.
The World No.5 will face unseeded Gilles Simon for a spot in the semifinals. Simon actually leads 2-0 in career meetings, with the Frenchman prevailing in their last encounter (Queen's Club 2019).
Medvedev
rallied from a set down to defeat youngster Jannik Sinner in the previous round. Conversely, Simon defeated Aljaz Bedene 7-6(6) 6-4 to advance to the quarterfinals. With both matches between the two quarterfinalists having gone the distance, the crowd should be expecting some drawn-out rallies.
Second seed
Stefanos Tsitsipas faces Canadian Vasek Pospisil in the first ATP-level meeting between both men. The Greek superstar will be looking to bounce back after an early round loss in Rotterdam last week.
Canada's
Denis Shapovalov will square off against Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik. After his
two hour victory over Marin Cilic, the fourth seed will be looking to keep his momentum going against Bublik.
Felix Auger-Aliassime takes on unseeded Belarusian qualifier Egor Gerasimov in the day's final quarterfinal. The seventh-seeded Canadian saved three match points in his thrilling 6-0 6-7(6) 7-6(9) victory over France's Pierre Hugues-Herbert. This will be the first meeting between him and Gerasimov, who upset third-seeded Belgian David Goffin 6-4 7-6(5).
