A dominant season by Mektic & Pavic became even more dominant today with the Croatian duo advancing to yet another final.
Not much needs to be said about the season Mektic & Pavic have been having in 2021. The Croatian duo have been utterly dominant from the start winning most of the event they take part in. Recently they won Gold at the Olympics and in Montreal, they will play for yet another title.
In the semifinals today they faced off against Krawietz and Tecau and it was a very competitive match. The Croatians tend to play some very competitive matches and this one was no different with a spectacular tiebreak to finish it off.
The match was a very close one from the start. Neither duo allowed anything on their serve and points were mostly won with ease. In the tiebreak it was the Croatians who proved slightly better winning it 7-3. Mektic and Pavic actually did not lose a single 1st serve point which is unbelievable.
The 2nd set was another fairly close that finished in the tiebreak. Mektic and Pavic had 4 break points but could not convert either of them with the German / Romanian combination holding firm. An epic tiebreak ensued with the Croatians winning it 14-12. They were sensational once more dropping only 3 1st serve points in the whole set.
