Milos Raonic and
Vasek Pospisil withdrew from the season-opener ATP 250 event in Delray Beach, not wanting to risk anything ahead of Melbourne and the season's first Major.
After Kei Nishikori, Andy Murray and Daniel Evans, the Canadian duo was the next in line for skipping the first tournament of the season, remaining on the practice court ahead of a two-week quarantine in Melbourne. Raonic should have been the top seed in Delray Beach, opting to skip the Florida event and save his season debut for Melbourne.
Milos is currently ranked 14th after respectable 23 wins in 2020, reaching the Australian Open quarter-final and the Delray Beach semi-final before the coronavirus outbreak.
Following the season restart, Milos fought in the Masters 1000 final in Cincinnati, missed a chance to beat Novak Djokovic, and closed the season with the semi-final in St. Petersburg and Paris Masters.
Pospisil earned the Comeback Player of the Year award after gaining almost 100 positions on the ATP list in 2020, losing Montpellier and Sofia finals to find himself on the verge of the top-60. Cristian Garin, John Isner, Hubert Hurkacz and Adrian Mannarino should lead the Delray Beach draw.
