Milos Raonic has withdrawn for the Roland-Garros the night before he was set to step onto the court.
The Canadian has missed the entirety of the clay season so far instead of focusing his effort to return to peak form at the Roland-Garros. Raonic never particularly liked clay courts but the Canadian did not shy away from them either. This year he won't play at the French Open because he officially withdrew hours before he was set to step onto the court.
Raonic did not release any statements so the reasoning behind his withdrawal is not known yet the most likely reason is injury. Raonic did not play a single match since his Miami Open exit to Hubert Hurkacz on March 30th. He will be replaced in the main draw by lucky loser Francisco Cerundolo.
If Raonic indeed suffered an injury he will try to heal up before the grass season which he favours a lot more than the clay season. With Wimbledon not too far away it seemed like a logical decision.
