French Open of the season will go ahead from May 30th till June 13th at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris with a prize pool of €38 million. It was originally supposed to start a week earlier but the event has been postponed by a week due to the effects of the pandemic. It will be the 125th edition of the event which is often referred to as the French Open.
The men's defending champion is
Rafael Nadal who defeated
Novak Djokovic in the 2020 final. The women's defending champion is
Iga Swiatek who defeated
Sofia Kenin in the final. The event will feature a large prize pool typical of Grand Slams with 38 million euros on offer.
The winner will get 1.6 million € and 2000 points with the losing player in the final getting a consolation prize of 800.000 € and 1200 points on in the men's competition and 1300 in the women's. Semifinalists will get 424.500 € and 720 points in the men's while in the women's competition they will get 780 points. Check out the full breakdown below.
