Predictions Monte-Carlo Masters
Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Alexander Zverev as sealing the title in Monaco.
No Novak Djokovic and I think there will be a different winner. I see a surprise victor in Alexander Zverev as well as Felix Auger-Aliassime and Casper Ruud figuring.
I see Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner reaching the latter stages albeit with one losing early then the other losing to Zverev losing late on in the tournament.
*** Alexander Zverev
** Felix Auger-Aliassime, Jannik Sinner
* Carlos Alcaraz, Casper Ruud
Alexander Zverev to win in Monte-Carlo?
Lucas Michael, Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Carlos Alcaraz as the champion in the Monegasque region.
The third Masters 1000 tournament of the year will be held at the illustrious Monte-Carlo Masters. Some of the biggest names in the world will set foot to commence the European clay swing with another huge title on the line.
The obvious favourites will be Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. The pair played two finals on clay last year in Rome and Roland Garros but are yet to clash in 2026. I believe that they will step onto court in the final. Sinner will look for a fourth Masters 1000 title on the bounce and to close the gap to Alcaraz in the rankings. The defending champion is under a lot of pressure to recover the points he collected from last year. Alcaraz goes into it in similar form to last year.
Outside of the big two, no Novak Djokovic opens the door for others to take advantage. Lorenzo Musetti reached the final last year and is a very commendable player on clay. He will likely be the favourite against most players in this competition. Alexander Zverev continues to reach big semi-finals this year but an elusive final appearance is still avoiding him. Alex de Minaur, Casper Ruud and Jack Draper could all be outside shouts for a deep run.
The championship, in my eyes, will be competed by either Alcaraz or Sinner. For a second year in a row, I am backing Alcaraz to get back to winning ways.
