With the US Open a few weeks away, the USTA has released a list of wild card entrants, and former champion Andy Murray is headlining the field.

The 2012 champion will be competing at the event for the first time in two years, having undergone hip surgery last year. Murray is currently ranked World No.129 due to his prolonged absence, although he does own a 45-12 record at Flushing Meadows.
In addition, the USTA also announced several Americans will receive singles main draw wild card entries to the tournament. Most notable is Brandon Nakashima, a quarterfinalist at the Delray Beach Open this year. Nakashima was also a member of the Chicago Smash at the recently concluded World Team Tennis exhibition event. The Smash reached the tournament final, losing to the New York Empire.
