Andy Murray began his grass season at the Surbiton Challenger but he'll continue it at the Nottingham Challenger next week in hopes of building up for Wimbledon.
Murray has often spoken about how Wimbledon is the main focus of his season believing the grand slam to be his best chance of making a deep run. He's not wrong as he could certainly make the second week of the event if he plays his best, something similar to what he played at the Australian Open earlier this year.
Surbiton has been a good experience for him as he won a couple of matches and the hope will be that he can continue to do that in Nottingham as well. The Brit took a wild card as announced by the LTA into the event. Playing as many matches will be good for him as he looks to build up his form and confidence before the event.

Second Week Goal

After his win over Kubler at the Surbiton Challenger, Murray admitted that watching the Ruud vs Rune match at Roland Garros further inspired him because he missed playing those high-stakes matches in the second week of a Roland Garros:
“I was watching (Holger) Rune v (Casper) Ruud match the other night, and playing the quarter-finals or semi-finals of the French Open is something that I did regularly. I loved playing in those matches, in full stadiums like that. Obviously when I get the opportunity to, like at the Australian Open or Wimbledon, I’ve really enjoyed those occasions. I would like to be playing in the latter stages of those events more.”
He'll have a chance to do that at Wimbledon if he produces his best level as some think he will. Having a good prep for it will be crucial for the former world number one.
