During the trophy ceremony, impressed by Tim’s performance, Medvedev also took a hilarious dig at himself, leaving everyone amazed. He said:
"Congrats Tim. Amazing week. I mean first time in an ATP tournament and straight away you destroy the No. 2 in the world in straight sets in the finals. So, I think it must be an amazing feeling. I don’t know how it feels. So, it must be a good feeling.”
He also extended his best wishes for the future referencing his play in the juniors where he was one of the better players. Medvedev now looks ahead to Halle where he will play another event to try and collect as many points as possible before he takes a 2-week vacation far away from the UK.
