Rafael Nadal's career did not get off to a good start after he became a father as he dropped a few matches before finally winninig one.
The Spaniard joked about that before the United Cup in Australia where he'll prepare for the Australian Open. He won the event last year against all odds and will be the defending champion this year. Speaking ahead of the event he said:
"The first event I play like a father without the baby with me, I lost first round. Second event, traveling with the baby, I was out of the group stage. At the end I won my last match, but I need to keep improving, no?.We have some help. No problem at all. Just I need to organize little bit my life, as everybody needs to do when you have a child in your life."
Nadal is excited to be back in Australia one more time and he's always enjoyed it there. Not much success over the years but playing there was always a good experience for him:
"Excited to be in Australia one more time. Hope to be ready to enjoy our month here in Australia. Excited to play this competition for the first time. Then let's see. We are focused now on this event. Let's try our best and let's see how far we can go."
