Rafael Nadal defeated Kwon 6-2 6-1 in the quarterfinal of the Abierto Mexicano Acapulco 2020 and afterwards he reflected on his run so far.
After
producing a stellar display against Kwon, Rafael Nadal spoke to the media about his Acapulco run so far. He reflected on the match:
"The match has been much tougher than what the result said. I think it was a beautiful match to see. It was a good match against a tough opponent. I think he’s going to have a very good tennis career."
It continued a good run by Nadal in Acapulco where
he says he feels like home. His next opponent will be
Grigor Dimitrov who
defeated Wawrinka earlier that night. Speaking about that matchup Nadal said:
"He finished last year much better than how he had played the rest of that year. He started to play some good tennis and is showing it here, winning some very good matches. I’m going to need my best and I hope I’m ready to make it happen."
That match will be an interesting one but Nadal is the favourite. They played 13 matches so far and Nadal won 12 of those. The last was played on clay and were easy victories for Rafa. The only match Dimitrov won was back in 2016 in Beijing.
