Serbia’s young tennis star
Hamad Medjedovic will be working alongside
legendary
Novak Djokovic before the start of the
United Cup.
The 20-year-old is one of the most highly-rated players currently
playing in the circuit. He lived up to the hype after winning the Next Gen
Finals after defeating France’s Arthur Fils in the final with a score of 3-4,
4-1, 4-2, 3-4, 4-1.
Medjedovic is often regarded as the heir of Djokovic and as
per the latest report, he will work with the current world number one before
the start of the United Cup. For someone who is still very early in his career,
the Novi Pazar-born will be hoping to learn a great deal from one of the
greatest players in the history of tennis.
Djokovic is the most successful player in men’s singles
tennis in the Open era, having won 24 Grand Slam titles. He had a fabulous time
in 2023 where he ended up winning three out of four Grand Slams.
His only defeat in a major tournament in the season came in
the final at Wimbledon where he lost to Spain’s young tennis sensation Carlos
Alcaraz in a five-set thriller contest with a score of 1–6, 7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6,
6–4.
