Nick Kyrgios pulls out of Mallorca Open ahead of clash with Bautista Agut

Nick Kyrgios was set to play Roberto Bautista Agut later today in round two of the Mallorca Championships but he pulled out of the event.

Kyrgios pulled out due to an 'abdominal injury which could be troublesome because the same injury forced him to retire at Wimbledon last year. It comes after a long battle against Laslo Djere. The Australian player played quite a few events on the grass already and getting a few days of rest before Wimbledon seems like a good decision.

Kyrgios will travel to London with a 7-2 record on grass hoping for a strong outing. He will certainly be dangerous. He said:

"I'm really sorry I'm going to have to withdraw from tonight's match in Mallorca. I have been playing a lot of great matches lately and unfortunately I woke up with pain in my abs. I went to see the doctor and he advised me not to play tonight. I really vlaue the event but I will follow his advice to be ready for Wmibledon next week."
