Australia’s tennis star Nick Kyrgios has revealed that his fitness is getting better. The 28-year-old is currently spending time on the sidelines after suffering an injury in the second half of 2022.
It was because of this that he ended up missing all four Grand Slams in 2023. Kyrgios, while interacting with the fans on the social media platform Instagram, gave a positive update about his rehab.
"Honestly, I’m seeing improvement every day with my wrist and I’m in the middle of getting back to playing shape,” he said. "I will be back. I’m not sure of the exact time frame, I will be cautious and take my time. We know what happens when I’m healthy.”
The update will be a major boost for his fans who have not seen their star player playing at the highest level for more than 12 months.
It will be interesting to see whether Kyrgios will be able to return to his prime form, just like he was playing before getting injured in 2022 which was arguably the best season of his career.
Two years back, Kyrgios played in his maiden and till now only Grand Slam final at Wimbledon where he lost to the current world number one Serbia’s Novak Djokovic with a score of 4–6, 6–3, 6–4, 7–6(7–3).
