Cameron Norrie has been named the LTA's Singles Player of the Year after a very solid year on the ATP Tour putting his name alongside some legendary winners.
The recognition pays tribute to Norrie's extraordinary performance in the 2022 season, during which he achieved unprecedented success and delivered unforgettable moments for tennis enthusiasts. He climbed the rankings to reach a career-high of world No. 8 in September, thus joining the exclusive group of British players who have reached the top 10 in the Open Era.
However, it was Norrie's captivating journey at Wimbledon that truly won the hearts of fans and garnered media attention. His electrifying performance led him to his first-ever Grand Slam semi-final, ultimately earning him immense popularity among British tennis fans. On the honour, Norrie said:
"The last year was quite the run for me, getting into
the semi-final at Wimbledon - after winning Delray Beach and Lyon – was a
big achievement in my career, and I'm looking forward to building on
those performances as I continue into this year and beyond. Thanks to
