Despite playing some of his best tennis of the season this week at the Abierto Mexicano Acapulco,
Stefanos Tsitsipas was unable to get past
Cameron Norrie, who outplayed the Greek star to reach his second final of the season.
Norrie shocked the World No.4 in a 6-4 6-4 victory, breaking his opponent on two occasions while saving the lone break point faced. The sixth seed took the most of his opportunities, applying pressure to the Tsitsipas backhand as he earned the crucial break points.
By virtue of this victory, the Brit has reached back-to-back finals, after lifting the title in Delray Beach last week. The 26-year old will be hoping to win his fourth career title, and has been one of the most consistent players on tour since the end of the 2021 season.
Norrie will have a huge task ahead of him in the final, as he faces the winner of the Australian Open final rematch between top seed Daniil Medvedev and 21-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal.
