Andy Murray US Open 2021
Andy Murray played a pretty good event at the Moselle Open reaching the first quarter-final in two years however the Brit wasn't too happy with that.
Murray has been exhibiting more and more emotions on the court lately with the Brit celebrating victories harder than ever while also fuming after losses harder than ever. Murray was frustrated throughout the match with Hurkacz, especially with the Polish player's stunning serving. After the match Murray said:
"I think I played better this week than I did in Cincinnati and in Winston Salem. I did play a pretty good match at the US Open. But like I said the other day, I’m not that interested in playing well and losing."
It's a clear sign that Murray is getting frustrated at the constant losing which is not something he has been accustomed to during his long playing career. The British player clearly has passion left for the game but it's obvious that he's not able to produce the high level he hopes to produce on a consistent basis. He admitted frustration saying:
"I want to be winning these matches and I’ve certainly created enough opportunities to not necessarily win all of them, but to make it closer than what it has been and give myself a better chance of winning. So, yeah, I’m disappointed with that."
Asked what he ultimately hopes to achieve he quickly said:
"I want to get back into the top 10 – [that] would be more something that would motivate me in terms of the goal."
