Serbian legendary tennis star
Novak Djokovic leads the top
10 forehands in 2023 by some margin. The 36-year-old is regarded as the
greatest player in the history of men’s singles tennis in the Open era, having
won as many as 24 Grand Slam titles.
Djokovic has been named by Tennis TV as the winner of the
best forehands in 2023. His rating score was 9.1. Second-best on the list was
Spain’s young tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz who had a rating score of 8.69.
Djokovic had a fabulous year at the highest level where he
ended up winning three out of four Grand Slams. He won the Australian Open by
defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece with a score of 6–3, 7–6(7–4), 7–6(7–5).
Djokovic then lifted the French Open after beating Norway’s
Casper Ruud in the final with a score of 7–6(7–1), 6–3, 7–5. In the US Open,
the Belgrade-born defeated Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the final with a score
of 6–3, 7–6(7–5), 6–3.
His only defeat in a major event came in the final at
Wimbledon where he lost to Alcaraz in a five-set thriller with a score of 1–6,
7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6, 6–4. Djokovic ended the year on a high as well as he lifted
the ATP Finals in Turin after defeating Italy’s tennis star Jannik Sinner in
the final with a score of 6-3, 6-3.
