Novak Djokovic moves on in Paris with a walkover

Novak Djokovic is moving on at the Paris Masters as his opponent Gael Monfils withdrew before the match.

It was supposed to be a very good matchup between Novak Djokovic and Gael Monfils. The Frenchman usually plays his best tennis on home soil and today would have been a great way to show that. However, the Frenchman sustained an injury in his match against Mannarino yesterday which hampered him throughout the match.

He was able to rise above that and finish the match yet today it seems like he was not ready to go. The announcement came about 30 minutes before they were supposed to step onto the court. No reason was given yet but it's clear that a lower leg injury sustained yesterday for Monfils was the reason. Djokovic moves on to the quarterfinal.
