After some minor issues against Machac Djokovic returned to dominant ways as he smashed Tallon Griekspoor 6-2 6-3 to book the Dubai quarter-final.
Novak Djokovic played an okay match against Machac in Dubai to get things underway but his second match already showing himself in dominant form. He took apart Griekspoor tricky game, quite literally beating him in two easy sets. The Dutch player built a reputation for himself of being a very tough player to crack because he serves really well and is just generally tough to break.
Djokovic had no problems with that easily smashing him, especially in the second set. Griekspoor tried to be aggressive as he always is but it didn't work. Djokovic was on every ball and eventually, the Dutch player opted for many tough shots and rarely hit them. Griekspoor only barely avoided a second set bagel rallying from 15-14 down to win the first game.
He would then break the Serbian to make the score more acceptable. Brilliant win for Djokovic in the end and an asburd stat line of 8 aces, 29 winners and only 6 unforced errors.
