2013 Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli believes Novak Djokovic will win at least 23 grand slam titles placing him convincingly ahead of any competition.
Marion Bartoli was a very good tennis player during her peak winning the Wimbledon in 2013 as well as reaching a career-high ranking of number 7. Since retiring she has done some tennis analysis work and she belives Novak Djokovic is far from done. Speaking about the US Open final and what happened she said:
“It was quite obvious, it was just the pressure. It was the same for Serena when she tried it, obviously, it was one match earlier [at the 2015 US Open], when she lost in the semifinal to Roberta Vinci and no one expected that result."
Bartoli also explained that it was obvious that Djokovic had no gas left in the final moving sluggishly on the court and being late on most balls:
“But for Novak, you can tell, and he said it himself, that he had no legs when he played that final. It was just not the Novak Djokovic that we’re used to seeing. … as much as he’s a superhuman, at some point it was too much, even for him.”
Touching upon the grand slam totals and whether he will ever win a calendar grnad slam she said:
“I think the Calendar Year Grand Slam will be very difficult but I think Novak will get to 23."
