Emotion ran high during the Laver Cup doubles match between Matteo Berrettini & Alexander Zverev and John Isner and Denis Shapovalov with Zverev clashing with the Team World bench prompting some scathing responses.
It was a marvellous first day at the Laver Cup with Team Europe winning all singles matches and Team World winning the doubles match. All except the first match were very close matches that could have gone either way but after day one Europe has a 3-1 lead. The competition will resume today at 19:00 CET and it should be a blockbuster, especially after a situation that happened last night.
After the match ended with Team World winning the match tiebreak 10-1 an annoyed Zverev said towards the Team World bench:
"That's the last point you're going to win."
What followed was a conversation between Team World members with some having harsh responses for Zverev. You can see the video and transcribed conversation below. Zverev plays John Isner in the 2nd singles match today.
