Novak Djokovic will enter the
Monte-Carlo Masters as the top seed but the 2x champion will have a tough job looking for a 3rd title.
Novak Djokovic will be the top seed at the Monte-Carlo Masters but his path to the title will be difficult. As Nadal is playing, he won't be the favourite but the Serbian's familiarity with the conditions should give him an edge over many players.
He will have a 1st round BYE, with a possible R2 matchup against Jannik Sinner. Not many players have played better than Jannik Sinner recently and as a French Open quarterfinalist, he will be a tough out on clay. A potential R3 matchup against Hubert Hurkacz is another tough ask of Novak who will have his hands full with the in-form Pole if they do meet.
The quarterfinal will get even tougher with Alexander Zverev as a potential matchup or clay court specialist Sonego who already beat Djokovic before. The draw gets only tougher from there as potential semifinal matchups for Djokovic include the likes of Tsitsipas, Monfils, De Minaur and Berrettini all of whom are rather familiar with clay.
And that leaves the finals, where Djokovic would be favoured against everybody except for Nadal who obviously could be one of his opponents. Besides Nadal that side of the draw could offer Medvedev or Rublev as a challenger as well which could be problematic for Novak.
As noted above the path to the title would be a difficult one but as a 2x champion before Novak proved he can play a very strong Monte-Carlo Masters. What do you think? Will Novak Djokovic win the Monte-Carlo Masters? Tell us below.
