Dominic Thiem is the next casualty in the opening round of the US Open after Roberto Bautista Agut and Stefanos Tsitsipas headed out of the tournament earlier on.

Thiem lost out 4-6, 6-3, 3-6, 2-6 to Italian ace, Thomas Fabbiano. He lost out at the earliest stage at Wimbledon and now Flushing Meadows.
Fabbiano hit 17 winners to 28 unforced errors in the last two sets with his dominance showing. A forehand winner saw him claim the victory after a gruelling 2 hours, 23 minutes on Arthur Ashe stadium.
It is now five out of his 10 tour victories coming in Grand Slams showing how he continues to give his best on the biggest stage.
Next up for him is Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan who defeated Santiago Giraldo earlier today in a 2-6, 6-0, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 win.
