Opelka not a fan of Netflix Break Point: "It's not a crazy radical thought that was a boring show"

Known for strongly voicing his opinion, Reilly Opelka has revealed his dislike for Netflix's tennis show Break Point, stating he finds the show to be quite boring.

Break Point was released earlier this year featuring moments from the first half of the 2022 season, but Opelka appeared to have little interest in the popular tennis show.

"I mean you look at the few sports that have done Netflix series now F1, golf, tennis. Tennis finished third by a mile," he said during an interview on The Craig Shapiro Tennis Podcast. "It’s not a crazy radical thought that that was a boring show. I thought from the first episode I thought it was horrible."

Although the show has been renewed for a second season, the 25-year old believes the show lacks any real substance. Furthermore, he stated the tennis aspect of the show was significantly dumbed down.

"It was very basic," he opined. "They really dumbed it down too much in the tennis aspect. They weren’t controversial. I was surprised to the extent they shared in F1. You really get an inside look. It’s as transparent as it can be and it’s as censored as you can imagine in tennis."
