Former American tennis player
Pam Shriver has revealed excitement
about watching the clash between
Rafael Nadal and
Alexander Zverev at Roland Garros. The second Grand Slam is already underway, and players from all
over the world will participate to secure the ultimate prize.
One of the contests that will be highly focused in the first round of this year’s French Open will be when former world number one Nadal faces current world number four Zverev. The match is more significant because it might be the last time the 22-time Grand Slam winner, who is often
regarded as the greatest player in the history of men’s tennis in the Open era,
will feature in the mega-event.
Shiver, in a post on her official account on the social
media platform X — previously known as Twitter — expressed excitement about the
contest by sharing a picture of setting alarm and writing: "Not many times does a tennis match, that I am not
playing, coaching, or broadcasting, get my attention as much as this one on day
two.” Nadal is coming to the contest on the back of some not so great
performances. On the other hand, Zverev will be entering the contest as one of the
favourites after recently won the Rome Open after beating Chile’s Nicolas Jarry
in the final in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 7-5.
