Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff have booked the Rome Open final with a comeback win over Krawczyk and Schuurs 4-6 7-6(5) 10-8.
Pegula and Gauff both crashed out early from the Rome Open in the singles but they managed to play well in the doubles. A couple of wins managed to get them into the semi-final and now they're in the final after a great comeback win. The first set saw them fall behind 2-5 after some questionable play for a few games.
They managed to battled back to 4-5 but eventually, their opponents held on to close out the set 6-4. The second set opened well for their opponents as they took a 2-0 lead. It looked like they were on their way out however some stellar play down the line allowed them to break back and make it 4-4.
We went into the tiebreak with the Americans outlasting their opponents 7-5 despite falling behind 0-2. The match tiebreak was very exciting overall. It was once again the Dutch-American combo that took a 2-0 lead. From there it was a 4-0 run for the Americans and a 4-2 lead. We had a tie at 7-7 but eventually, Gauff and Pegula got it done 10-8.
