Tennis fans will be excited after seeing the possibility of
having another mouthwatering clash between young star
Carlos Alcaraz and the
22-time Grand Slam winner
Novak Djokovic.
Both players were involved in a feisty contest last month in
the Wimbledon 2023 final in London.
It was the 20-year-old who eventually came out on top in a
five-set thriller with a score of 1–6, 7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6, 6–4.
The duo might well face each other as many as three times in
the space of the next two months, much to the delight of the tennis fans.
Alcaraz and Djokovic will be representing their respective countries--Spain and Serbia--in
the upcoming
Davis Cup fixtures in September, meaning there is a great
possibility of them facing each other.
Not only that Alcaraz and Djokovic can face other in the final
of the ongoing Western & Southern Cincinnati Open and there is always a
chance of seeing the two go head to head in the upcoming fourth Grand Slam of
the year.
The US Open will be played from August 28 in New York where
Alcaraz will be defending his crown as he defeated Norway’s Casper Ruud with a
score of 6–4, 2–6, 7–6(7–1), 6–3.
