The Mubadala Citi DC Open Washington will conclude on Sunday evening with Dan Evans v Tallon Griekspoor in the Men's ATP Final with a preview of the action before it takes place.
A final which many wouldn't have predicted given Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe anchored an American effort for some time and were the forerunners.
But both like in the WTA final are on the cusp of the biggest titles of their career. Both will also have big rankings rise post-tournament. The victor no matter what will find themselves becoming World No.21 and only a few points behind Grigor Dimitrov in 20th.

Road to the Final - Dan Evans

Andy Murray returned to action this week in Washington, but it was in fact Dan Evans who has anchored Brit hopes.
The ninth seed has been in exemplary form all week and becomes the first Brit since Murray back in 2006 to reach the final in Washington.
Started off with victory over Gregoire Barrere, he followed that up by seeing off Alexander Shevchenko, home hero Frances Tiafoe then Dimitrov who he could overtake in the coming weeks like alluded to.
Since Barrere's opening set win, he has not dropped one since. It would be his first title too since the Murray River Open (remember that) during the Australian Open swing back in 2021. He saw off Felix Auger-Aliassime there. His other finals came in January 2017 and February 2019 so always long waits. But will it be worth it for Evans.

Road to the Final - Tallon Griekspoor and Head to Head round-up

From one country starved of top class tennis talent to another as Dutch ace, Tallon Griekspoor will be Evans' opponent in Sunday's spectacle.
It has been a week which has seen Griekspoor be the party pooper when it comes to home heroes and he saw off Taylor Fritz in particular in the semi-finals to record his first ever top 10 win.
He started his week seeing off a player that Dan Evans will know well in Liam Broady before taking down Gael Monfils.
But his back-to-back American ace wins saw him see off the greatest hair in American tennis in J.J Wolf followed by the best player in American tennis in Taylor Fritz. He is up to a career-high already this year and the rise of Griekspoor very much continues.
Two titles already this season in Pune and Rosmalen. He will aim to continue his unbeaten final record on Sunday night.
But what about the Head to Head. It is very minimal with two wins for Evans albeit one of them was in a Davis Cup tie so technically was for Great Britain over main bragging rights.
The other came in Antwerp at the European Open last year which was won by the Brit. A closely matched final and one to enjoy with both playing some of their best tennis to date this week.
