Novak Djokovic led the comeback of Serbia against Kazakhstan with him securing two points needed for the victory and a place in the semifinals.
It was a very close tie between the two nations as Djokovic delivered two crucial points for his nation. He first defeated Bublik in the singles after which he paired Cacic to win the doubles match as well. The whole ordeal took Serbia almost 7 hours of play but in the end, it was worth it. Djokovic himself noted after the win:
"I think I am proudest of my fighting spirit. I am proud of this team and I think we deserve to be in the semifinals. Team competitions, particularly
Davis Cup that is the most iconic team competition that we have in our sport, provoke the most beautiful emotions in me. I'm very motivated to play for Serbia."
Serbia will play Croatia for a place in the final next. How far can Djokovic lead them remains to be seen but it should be a very good tie against their old rivals.
