Struggling with a back injury at the Australian Open, Rafael Nadal is back at home in Mallorca, preparing for his next challenges in Miami or during the clay swing.
Rafa feels better, practicing on the hard court at his Academy and enjoying the mountain bike ride with his friend and physiotherapist Rafa Maymo. Two friends picked their bikes and went from Porto Cristo to Cala Millor, enjoying the coastal landscapes before returning home and completing the 20-kilometer route.
Nadal skipped the ATP Cup at the beginning of the season and entered the Australian Open with no official matches in his legs. Rafa defeated four rivals in straight sets at Melbourne Park, playing well and looking good to reach the semi-final after taking the opening two sets against Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarters. Out of a sudden, Stefanos claimed three straight sets to stun the 20-time Major champion.
Without those points, Rafa will drop out from the top-2 next week for the first time since June 2017, moving behind Daniil Medvedev and hoping to regain the position during the clay swing.
