Spain’s legendary tennis star
Rafael Nadal is set to make
the
Barcelona Open draw to increase the hopes of fans ahead of next week’s
mega-event. The competition is set to begin on April 15 where some of the world’s
top players will participate.
As per the latest report, Nadal will be making the draw for
the competition to increase the fans of the hopes of his potential return. The
37-year-old is often regarded as the greatest player in the history of men’s
tennis in the singles category, having won as many as 22 Grand Slam titles.
Nadal recently returned to professional tennis after a gap
of nearly one year at the start of the 2024 season in Brisbane, but since then,
he has been again on the sidelines because of an injury concern. Last year,
Nadal ended up missing three out of the four Grand Slams whereas in the ongoing
season, he has already decided to rule himself out of the Australian Open and
ATP 1000 events at Indian Wells, Miami Open and the Monte-Carlo Masters.
Nadal has a fabulous record while playing at the Barcelona
Open as he has won the title 12 times. His last triumph came in the 2021
edition where he defeated Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas with a score of 6-4, 6-7,
7-5.
