Rafael Nadal won't play a single tennis match this season but the Spaniard is showing himself a capable golf player instead.
Rafael Nadal announced a week ago he would not be competing anymore in 2021 in order to try and heal a nagging foot injury that has plagued him since 2005. The Spaniard made the difficult decision after trying to come back to tennis at the Citi Open in Washington. It was there the foot issue flamed up again making Nadal realize he would need to try something else.
While the Spaniard ponders how to heal the foot he elected to pursue another passion of his - golf. The Spaniard is an avid golf player and has competed in several amateur and semi-pro events. One such event is the 2021 Balearic Golf Championships.
After day one of the event Nadal is placed 9th and if we apply the handicap he is last. Not an ideal result for Nadal but he will try to improve his result tomorrow as he enjoys his time golfing trying to put a disappointing season behind him.
