Andrey Rublev ATP Finals 2020
Andrey Rublev played a great match against Fucsovics in the ABN AMRO WTT Rotterdam final lifting his 8th career title.
It was not as dominant as yesterday but Andrey Rublev got the job done against Marton Fucsovics whom he defeated in 7-6(4) 6-4 in just under two hours of play. The opening set went largely as expected as Rublev played his aggressive style from the start but the Hungarian held on. Fucsovics serve well the entire week and that continued today with his powerful serve allowing him to keep Rublev's forehand at bay. Despite Rublev targeting Fucsovics on the backhand the Hungarian managed to stay in the match fairly easy. A bit of trouble arose in the tiebreak where Rublev simply overpowered the Hungarian to clinch it 7-4.
The 2nd set opened with Rublev continued his stellar play and even raising it up a notch. He attacked Fucsovics at every opportunity and broke his serve in the first game. That did not discourage Fucsovics as he consolidated quickly to win a service game and stay in the match. He would continue to play and serve well but Rublev was too strong on his own serve. Ultimately it ended with a strong service game for Rublev.
A strong week from Rublev who lifted his 8th career trophy in Rotterdam and 3rd ATP 500 trophy. Congratulations.
