Casper Ruud continues to impress this season, as the Norwegian made quick work of his opponent to progress in Santiago.

The 21-year old defeated Chilean wildcard Alejandro Tabilo 6-4 7-5, silencing the home crowd after an hour and 31 minutes. The Buenos Aires champion is slowly starting to build his resume as a formidable opponent on clay.
Awaiting the second seed in the quarterfinals is seventh-seeded Federico Delbonis. The Argentine beat Italian Salvatore Caruso 7-6(1) 6-3 in an hour and 45 minutes. Caruso hit six double faults and could only convert 2 of 10 break chances. Conversely, Delbonis was able to capitalize on three of the six break point opportunities presented.
Sixth seed Hugo Dellien defeated Chilean qualifier Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera 6-3 7-6(2) to reach his first quarterfinal of the year. The Bolivian overcame the vocal support from the partisan crowd to save two set points in the second set, before claiming the match in a one-sided tiebreak.
Second-seeded Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas continues to have a disappointing clay-court season. After winning only five matches this year, the veteran handed qualifier Renzo Olivo his first Tour-level victory of the year. The Argentine pulled off the upset 5-7 7-6(5) 7-6(8) after three hours and 45 minutes. Olivo saved two match points in the final set tiebreak and advances to face Hugo Dellien in the quarterfinals.
