Frances Tiafoe says he used to sneak into the tournament in Washington: “I used to sneak into this event. Same security guards that there were back then are here & we still laugh at it. They were saying ‘Thank God I used to let you in back then’” 😂
The DC Open has a special place in the heart of Frances Tiafoe, who recalled his adventures at the event before becoming a professional tennis player.
Tiafoe is the second seed at the ATP event, and has experienced a meteoric rise in popularity and ranking following his semifinal performance at last year's US Open.
In a press-conference for the event, Tiafoe admitted to sometimes sneaking into the tournament when he was younger. The World No.10 revealed the security guards remembered his antics, which they often joke about to this day.
"I used to sneak into this event," he said. "Same security guards that there were back then are here & we still laugh at it. They were saying ‘Thank God I used to let you in back then.’”
