Spain’s young tennis sensation
Carlos Alcaraz has stated
that he is looking forward to facing both Italy’s
Jannik Sinner and Russia’s Daniil
Medvedev in the ongoing Shanghai Rolex Masters.
All three of them are the highest-seeded players in the ongoing
ATP 1000 event currently taking place in China.
Alcaraz was recently quoted in a report where he stated that
he is looking forward to playing both of them in the ongoing mega-event.
"I really want to face them, both of them. Before that
I have to win my matches, and they as well. But both are players that probably,
you know, it's scary to face them, you know, on court, but I like that kind of
challenge. I'm really wanting that. I want to play my best level to find the
final and probably face them."
The current world number two lost his both previous outings
against Sinner and Medvedev. In the recently concluded China Open, he lost to Italy’s
tennis star in the semifinal in straight sets with a score of 7-6, 6-1.
Before that in the US Open, Alcaraz lost to Medvedev in the
semifinal with a score of 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
The El Palmer-born
became the talk of the town after beating the current world number one Serbia’s
Novak Djokovic in the final of Wimbledon earlier this year in a five-set
thrilling contest with a score of 1–6, 7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6, 6–4.
