Korda Aus Open
Sebastian Korda played a superb match in Estoril to take down a struggling Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets 6-2 6-2.
It's not been a very good clay season so far for Felix Auger-Aliassime who struggled on the surface last year as well. Auger-Aliassime entered this match a slight underdog despite some positive trends in the recent matches. Sebastian Korda on the other hand has been a rather solid player on clay for a while now. He reached the 4th round of the French Open the first time he played.
He also played very well so far in Estoril and it continued today against Auger. The Canadian did not play too terrible it was simply that Korda was that much better. The American was inspired and he wasted no time in this match asserting his aggressiveness from the start. He took a double break lead in the first set finishing it off with 6-2.
Most of the damage came on the 2nd serve of Auger which was expected. The Canadian did not play that much better in the 2nd set either as he fell behind early in the 2nd set as well. From there it was a rather smooth cruise for Korda whose opponent simply could not find a very good rhythm. Korda finished it off with 6-2 in the 2nd set as well.
