With every tennis accolade already in his name, Novak Djokovic may soon find himself the recipient of another record issued by the Marbella municipality.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion has resided in Marbella, Andalusia for several years. However, Djokovic has found himself butting heads with the city, as there are reports of his failure to comply with the municipality's regulations regarding extensions to his house

The issues stem from renovation work without proper authorization

In an report by media outlet Marbella 24 horas, the former World No.1 has allegedly been carrying out renovations on his mansion in the Sierra Blanca development since late 2022 without authorization. This has led to the municipality deciding to sanction the 37-year old by imposing two fines of 5,000 euros.

Furthermore, It has been specified that should Djokovic continue to ignore the law, the Serbian could receive up to twelve of such sanctions. That is a total amount of 60,000 euros. It should be noted that the Djokovic family villa is estimated at 10 million euros.

Djokovic is currently competing at the 2025 Miami Open, where he defeated American Sebastian Korda to reach his 79th ATP Masters 1000 semifinal. The ageless Serbian will face Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov for a spot in the final.
