Tennis phenom
Mirra Andreeva admitted that she's aiming at surpassing Novak Djokovic for the most grand slams leaving tennis fans unhappy as she forgot about
Serena Williams.
Andreeva proved herself as a proper tennis prodigy in the previous weeks playing some amazing tennis and beating seasoned veterans. Wins at the Madrid Open and this year's Roland Garros prove that she belongs to the top of tennis and who knows what's in store for the 16-year-old. Her wins here will allow her to break into the top 100 and during one of her post-match interviews, the youngster admitted she wants to dethrone Djokovic at the top of most grand slam wins.
She said:
"The dream. I know that Djokovic, he did 22 Grand Slams or 23, so I want to go until 25, if it will be possible. I don't know. But I will just play. For now my goal is to win match by match, to win next match. Then if I win this match, to win next match again. That's it. Just to win match by match."
Andreeva however forgot Serena Williams who got 23, one more than Djokovic has at this moment with tennis fans highlighting that. Some were quite unhappy with the mistake by Andreevau but she's a 16-year-old kid after all. We bring you some of the reactions below:
"Serena’s 23 don’t count anymore?"
"Serena won 23, no? I wouldn’t ignore her for Novak to make that kind of reference."
"How is your goal 25 but you mention Djokovic and not Serena? Do the math!!!!!"
Has she ever heard of someone named Serena Williams?"
"This is such a Sharapova response ("Monica Seles"
