Jannik Sinner has been of the most promising young players in the past couple of years but his record against the top 5 players isn't something to write home about.
The Italian has a really strong game that is super aggressive and always goes for his shots with plenty of winners in his matches. There are many errors in his game as well and that's been one of the problems when he's facing some of the best. He simply can't keep high enough for a long enough time to beat him. It happened at Wimbledon against Djokovic, Alcaraz at the US Open and it's the final step to making himself as great as he can be.
When you look at Djokovic, he's a master of picking his spots and rarely makes mistakes. Certainly not as much as his opponents. Sinner played 20 matches so far against players that are ranked in the top 5 at the time when the match took place and he won only three of those twenty. That's not a good mark for a player who hopes to win grand slams in the future and be ranked number one.
He's still young but not that young that he should be losing all those matches. After all, some of those players that have beaten him like Alcaraz are close to his age. What is an encouraging sign is that two of the three wins he has happened this year which might indicate an improvement.
