Novak Djokovic gave a ball girl a huge scare at Wimbledon in a comedic clip that has gone viral online. Since then, the duo he reunited with Djokovic even giving her a gift in a pleasant meeting.
The event occurred in the second round match between Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas. It was one of Djokovic's best performance's in this Wimbledon campaign as he took down the former world number three in a comfortable straight sets win.
While a lot of the discourse was mounted around that showing, it was also centred on an incident that occurred when Djokovic asked a nearby ball girl assisstance with his shoulder taping. He has protected his shoulder on court with it giving him numerous injury problems in recent times, seeing him choose to miss a number of tournaments to be fully prepared for the Grand Slam events.
She was handed the task of using scissors to cut a particular part of the tape. She did this with no problem, or so that seemed before Djokovic pretending to be hurt briefly. Instantly, he looked up and brushed off the event as a prank with the ball girl looking shocked. It caused the Centre Court crowd to burst into laughter. It was caught on camera and soon it became watched by loads of tennis fans online.

Djokovic meets prank victim

Djokovic is set to compete in the quarter-final of Wimbledon against Felix Auger-Aliassime. He is on the hunt for an eighth title and a 25th Grand Slam triumph, looking to re-write the record books once more.
Before all of this, he had time for a wholesome reunion with that specific ball girl who seemed please to see the former world number one. "Sorry about the scare the other day," Djokovic said while laughing. "Don't be sorry about it at all," she replied. "I found it very funny." "Serbian sense of humour," Djokovic clarified.
The ball girl continued to joke about the situation with Djokovic still seeing the funny side as well. "I thought it was good. You made me laugh. I thought it was funny." Djokovic then reached into his tennis bag and brought out a cap for her, signing it as well. "You did a great job," he said.
This could have been a great opportunity for revenge, but she was not so confident in herself. "I've been thinking all day how can I scare you back. But I thought it would be really embarassing if I don't execute it well, so I've decided not to." They finished off by taking a picture together before going their separate ways.

Quarter-final time at Wimbledon

It is just one of the special moments that has come out of this already very dramatic and entertaining Wimbledon tournament. With the second week fully underway, we are now getting into the business end of proceedings.
Djokovic is one of the remaining men in the draw, dwindled down from 128 to just eight. He has reached the quarter-final stage at least in his last nine Wimbledon participations including this one, failing to reach the last-eght just three times from 2007.
Before the emergence of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, he was the dominant force at Wimbledon, taking home four consecutive titles between 2018 and 2022 with 2020 cancelled due to COVID-19. A brace of final defeats against Alcaraz followed before a damaging reality check against Sinner last year halted his ambitions of securing history. With no Alcaraz, he will fancy his chances but a possible route to the final may involve another showdown against the world number one. The last time they played, Djokovic stunned Sinner in the Australian Open in a thriller before losing the final against Alcaraz in Melbourne. He will still need to take down Auger-Aliassime before that matchup happens, with Sinner taking on Jan-Lennard Struff.
