South Africa burried Chile's chances for the quarterfinal at the 2020 ATP Cup after a comfortable 3-0 victory.

After unsuccessful start to the ATP Cup when South Africa lost 3-0 to Serbia, they were looking for their first point after Chile. Players from Chile are not in the best form, when before the tie, Nicolas Jarry had already a 10-game streak without victory.
As he faced George Harris, he did not managed to break the streak. Jarry had a 4-2 lead in the first set, but the player from South Africa turned set to win it 6-4. In the second set, he added another 6-4 victory to give his country 1-0 lead.
In the second matchup, Kevin Anderson faced Christian Garin. After not playing during the end of the season, Anderson announced that he is ready to represent his country. In the first tie, Anderson lost to Djokovic just in two tie-breaks what was a very good performance. Now, Anderson defeated Christian Garin in just 72 mintues 6-0, 6-3.
In the doubles Klaasen & Roelofse faced Garin & Jarry. Despite the slow beginning when duo from South Africa lost the first set 1-6, they managed to turn the match after winning the second set 6-3 and the third 10-7.
After the first victory at the ATP Cup, Anderson said: “A little bit physically draining after my first match. It's always, as much as you work off the court, it's always a little bit different being in a match environment. But a really good day of recovery yesterday and my body felt really good being out there today.”
