Stefanos Tsitsipas played a very solid match to overcome tricky native player Corentin Moutet in straight sets 6-3 7-6(3).
Corentin Moutet was playing really strong tennis this week in Paris but the French player did not have enough energy to overcome Tsitsipas who is an athletic beast. Moutet finished his match in the early hours of yesterday and it impacted him in this one despite playing pretty well overall.
The first set saw Tsitsipas break his opponent once in a set where the Greek player did not face a single break point. He was serving well and doing plenty of damage with the serve as Moutet never found a very good rhythm with his return.
The second set was quite a bit more complicated for him as he only had one game where he was able to create much pressure on Moutet. The French player saved break points in that one and didn't allow a single one apart from that game.
The tiebreak was played well by Moutet but he was not good enough with Tsitsipas finishing it off 6-3. A good effort from Moutet but Tsitsipas proved too solid overall hitting 24 winners in the straight set victory.
