The last time they played was this year at the French Open and Rune bested Tsitsipas thanks to a brilliant performance by the Danish player.
He'll have a chance to make it 2-0 in H2H against the Greek when he takes him on in the final on Sunday. Rune was the first player on the courts and he played Alex de Minaur. It was a long match that lasted close to three hours with Rune winning in three sets. The first set was interesting but de Minaur was a bit more sound.
He was able to hold his serve with ease and frustrated the Dane into a few errors which proved costly late 6-4. The second set featured Rune breaking de Minaur early but then falling behind 1-3. He would battle back from that deficit and force a tiebreak which he won 7-1.
The final set opened well for Rune 3-0 but de Minaur found a way back although not enough to win the match 5-7.
Rune will take on Tsitsipas in the final as the Greek cruised easily against Emil Ruusuvuori. The Finish player was superb in the past days but was unable to get anything going today putting in a very lacklustre performance that Tsitsipas easily outperformed.
