It will be an Italian final on Italian soil as
Matteo Berrettini takes on
Lorenzo Musetti in the first edition of the Napoli Cup.
Berrettini was the first player on the courts as he took on Mackenzie McDonald who has had an amazing week in Napoli. The American played proved a formidable opponent once more taking an early lead as Berrettini was all over the place. 5-0 was the lead for the American after which Berrettini finally found a solid rhythm.
He pulled back one break but the American was able to hold lead to get the opening set 6-3. The second set was one where Berrettini played much better and he took an early lead. He wasn't able to hold it and we had a tie score in the second set. It was settled in a tiebreak which Berrettini won and he won the final set 6-3 as well.
Musetti also had a very slow start but he did not fall behind as much as Berrettini did. Kecmanovic was unable to hold the level and slowly but surely Musetti was able to wear his opponent down. The Italian only needed one break in each set to get it done and it proved enough for the final.
